I recently got into bird photography as I have watched them sinse I was a kid so this is a feature of some amazing bird photography on DA:











I am a member of:

I just got my birthday and christmas present from my parents for the next 20 years, a Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens, Canon EF 70-300mm lens, a real flash carry bag and some UV filters. I am so keen for a drive tomorrow to try this gear out, all I really want now is a tripod and some Graduate ND filters.

I have 6 months to get used to this camera before I go on holiday for a month in which I will be traveling the south island of New Zealand (the place on Lord of the Rings with big mountains and other amazing landscapes).

In 3 days I start my second semester of my first year at uni, I am doing a bachelor of visual arts degree which can be quite fun at times but also relatively hard work.

BADNESS:
DA V6 sucks testiballs, I can't see any images or do thumbs so no features or favs, sorry. It also keeps loging me out and makes life on DA a lot harder and more time consuming.

When I logged in to DA today I had a nice suprise, a 6 months sub donated by after I won his 'Nature's Beauty' contest [link] with this photo:

Update: I just reached another mile stone today, 102 watchers after I became passionate about photography 6 months ago. Thanks to all of you for your support, I really appreciate it

Well I thought a journal update was about due as I haven't done one for over 3 months. I have just finished my first semester of uni (bachelor of visual arts degree, year 1) and now I have 5 weeks off, it feels great

I should hopefully be getting a Canon EOS 40D in a few months as I plan on going down to the South Island of New Zealand from the end of November to the end of December which should be good for some shots. I'm pretty excited as I haven't been yet and judging from the lord of the rings movies it looks like my kind of place.
